Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories that generate enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises generated from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device must be distinguishable from other audible devices or noises from the work environment. The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices within the work place. The audible device can end up contributing to OSHA noise limitation and to employee noise exposure; thus, care must be taken.
Hearing protection makes it trickier to hear the audible device and to determine what direction and distance it is coming from. Audible devices could sometimes get deactivated from both operators and employees because they can find them annoying. Moreover, audible devices may also be objectionable to residents nearby.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To be able protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are utilized to help avoid injuries and reduce other issues. Furthermore, these cabs feature an emergency exit via window removal. Noise levels are lessened at the operator's ear due to additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: The operator could choose the performance requirement for the particular use. Additionally, it enables a supervisor to set the utmost performance of a model for an operator who is just beginning to learn. Being able to adjust and lessen the unit's maximum performance enables a new operator to learn the operating characteristics of the machinery in a controlled environment.
Impact Monitor: When the impact monitor is disabled, a supervisor is required to enable and override the unit. This encourages the operator to be sure to manage the machine in a more controlled manner.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These particular mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
